2008 Colorado Stampede Season Wrap up
A year to remember was the motto all year. I want to thank the wonderful group of young ladies and parents that made that a reality. We started the season at the Batbuster's showcase in Nov and it was an awesome trip for us. The girls really came together and anticipated a great upcoming season. We played over 600 innings of softball and finished 64-31. The Stampede hit .314 as a team and the pitching and defense were solid all year. We sent 5 players on to college programs in 2008. After playing virtually every weekend from March 1 st until the end of July, we finished at the 18A Western Nationals in Seattle, WA. What at trip! The perfect ending to a perfect season! The only tough thing that we had to face, was the injury to star pitcher, Megan McGinnis. While playing the outfield, she sustained a serious knee injury that required surgery and ended her season in early May. She was greatly missed, but Dani Chaplin was a true workhorse for us. She was asked to pitch a lot of innings and never complained. Every single player played a vital role in our success and there were a lot of tears shed at our last game in Seattle.
The ladies played hard, both on and off the field. An amazingly close family that nurtured lifelong memories and relationships. Thank you Hannah Antista, Megan Bond, Anna Carpinello, Dani Chaplin, Anne DeWire, Taryn Duncan, Jenna Engel, Jessica Hamlin, Laura Leonard, Megan McGinnis, Lyssa Roberts, Allie Walen, Kelsey Walton and Bill Chaplin.
I expect great things from these guys. Some of the most classy, hard working young ladies I have ever coached. You made my job easy and I appreciate you and your families!

2007 COLORADO STAMPEDE 16UA
2007 Stampede 16UA Season Wrap Up
I want to personally thank all the players and families for an awesome season. I have never had so much fun, support and help with any previous team. You guys were great! We started the season with lot's of new faces and a new organization. As the year went on, the girls became close friends and fierce competitors. I hope that each player will take many fond memories of the 2007 Stampede season and cherish the friendships that were built. I could not have asked for a better group of kids or families. We saw some amazing progress in every single girl. They should be very confident entering their H.S. seasons as they chase a State Championship.
I would also like to thank Andy Alsdorf. Andy is a great coach and his knowledge of the game was so valuable to the success of our team. We became close friends over the season and I appreciate all the time and hard work that he put in. This is truly a man that loves watching the girls play and works hard to make sure that they have a chance to be the best that they can be!
The 2007 Stampede team finished the season with an official record of 56 19 2. This did not include any of the March friendlies, where we played 15 games against 18A competition. Of the 19 losses, only 12 of them were against 16A competition. 7 were against 18A teams. 14 of our wins were against 18A teams.
The Stampede hit .315 as a team. We scored 371 runs and gave up 96 earned runs. We had 514 hits and allowed only 298. We stole 85 bases, laid down 64 sacrifice bunts, and hit 13 homeruns, 15 triples, and 80 doubles. Our defense was the key to our season. We had amazing pitching and solid defense all year. Our pitchers struck out 332 batters, and walked only 96, for a team earned run average of a sparkling 1.73. Opponents hit .199 against us. Our pitchers threw over 6800 pitches and had a 2 to 1 ratio of strikes to balls.
As you can see, we have a lot to be proud of. I was really impressed all year with how good these girls played the game, but MOST importantly, I was thankful to have had the opportunity to get to know them. They are all class individuals with very bright futures ahead of them and wherever they end up, I wish them the best of luck.
Thank you, Kelsey, Hannah, Megan, Anna, Taylor, Taryn, Jessica, Laura, Megan, Kelly, Allie, and Kelsey! You guys are awesome!
Thanks again everyone for making this a season to remember! As the girl's would say, We were kind of a big deal.
